Ingredients

  • 1 bag tortilla chips (about 10 oz)

  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 0.5 cup JD's Angry Fig Relish

  • 1 cup cooked, crumbled chorizo or ground beef

  • 0.5 cup black beans, drained and rinsed

  • 0.3 cup pickled jalapeños

  • 0.3 cup sour cream, for topping

  • 2 green onions, sliced

Steps

1 Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large sheet pan with parchment.

2 Layer the chips: Spread 1 bag tortilla chips (about 10 oz) in an even layer on the sheet pan.

3 Add protein and beans: Scatter 1 cups cup cooked, crumbled chorizo or ground beef and 0.5 cups cup black beans, drained and rinsed, evenly over the chips.

4 Add cheese and relish: Top with 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese and 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, then dollop 0.5 cups cup JD's Angry Fig Relish evenly across the top.

5 Bake until melted: Bake until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling.

6 Top and serve: Remove from oven and top with 0.3 cup pickled jalapeños, 0.3 cup sour cream, for topping, and 2 green onions, sliced. Serve immediately, straight from the pan.

Notes

Angry Fig Relish brings sweet heat that cuts through the richness of the cheese and meat — a spoonful straight on top after baking adds an extra punch.
