Baked Habanero & Mango Wings
Crispy baked wings tossed in JD's Habanero & Mango Hot Sauce — sweet heat that's built for game day, no fryer required.
Ingredients
3 pounds lb chicken wings, split
1 tablespoon baking powder
0.5 teaspoons kosher salt
1 cup JD's Habanero & Mango Hot Sauce
2 tablespoons tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoons tbsp honey
1 green onion, sliced, for garnish
Steps
1 Preheat and prep: Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and set a wire rack on top.
2 Season the wings: Pat the 3 pounds lb chicken wings, split completely dry. Toss with 1 tablespoon baking powder and 0.5 teaspoons kosher salt until evenly coated.
3 Arrange on rack: Arrange wings in a single layer on the rack, skin side up.
4 Bake until crispy: Bake, flipping once halfway through, until golden and crispy.
5 Make the sauce: While wings bake, whisk together 1 cup JD's Habanero & Mango Hot Sauce, 2 tablespoons tbsp unsalted butter, melted, and 1 tablespoon honey in a large bowl.
6 Toss and serve: Toss the hot wings in the sauce until fully coated. Garnish with 1 green onion, sliced, for garnish and serve immediately.
Notes
Baking powder is the trick to crispy skin without frying — make sure it's baking powder, not baking soda. Serve with celery and ranch or blue cheese to cool things down.
